  • 1/2 cup Walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Soft butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Pears, peeled, cored, diced
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter

Instructions

Step 1

Cream 1/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla extract, then the egg. Beat until smooth.

In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture alternately with sour cream. Mix just to blend after each addition.

Fold in the diced pears. Spread the batter evenly in an 8-inch greased square pan.

In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons soft butter until well combined.

Stir in the chopped walnuts. Sprinkle the nut topping evenly over the cake batter in the pan.

40-45 minutes

Bake at 350°F for 40-45 minutes or until the top is well-browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
