Vada

Ingredients

Curry leaves
Sunflower oil
Salt
Cumin seeds
Fennel seeds
Coriander leaves
Ginger one piece
Chilly

Preparation

Method:

Soak the Urad dal for 4 hours

In a pan roaster the Fennel and the Cumin

Grind it into powder

Chop the Coriander very finely

Drain and grind the urad dal to a coarse paste

Add ginger + curry leaves+ the green Chilly, while grinding

Transfer in a separated bowl

Add the powdered cumin, fennel, salt and the coriander,salt and mix well

To make each vada, roll a small piece of the mix dough into a ball

And flatten it. Vadas are usually 2 1/2"in diameter and if you like you can make a hole in the middle.

Deep fry the vadas in the oil or ghee until golden (4-5 min)
