Chocolate Black Cherry Almond Cobbler


2 cups cherries (black cherries, washed, pitted and drained)
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 tsp dark chocolate (Xocai Activ Powder)
1 cup flour
1 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsps baking powder
1 dash salt
3 tbsps butter
1/2 cup low-fat milk
2 tbsps chopped almonds


Heat oven to 450 degrees and spray 1 1/2- quart casserole dish. Add cherries, almond extract, and sprinkle with Xocai Activ. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in batter and add milk. Stir in almonds and mix until dough forms a ball. Drop dough by the spoonful into pie filling and bake about 30 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Top warm cobbler with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 6-8
