- 2 cups black cherries (washed, pitted and drained)
- 1 teaspoons dark chocolate (Xocai Activ Powder)
- 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1 cups flour
- 1 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 dash salt
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cups low-fat milk
- 2 tablespoons chopped almonds
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Lightly spray a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Step 2
Add the prepared black cherries and almond extract to the casserole dish. Sprinkle with the dark chocolate powder.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the butter into the flour mixture until crumbly. Gradually add the low-fat milk and mix.

Stir in the chopped almonds and continue to mix until a soft dough forms a ball.
Step 6
Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the cherry filling in the casserole dish. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.

Serve the warm cobbler topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
