4 Fresh Cocktails for Independence Day

No matter if you are celebrating Independence Day relaxing on the beach, by the pool or at the park, a fresh and tasty cocktail should be in hand.  These fruity concoctions are made with a Brazilian rum called cachaça, a spirit distilled from sugar cane.  Enjoy your holiday weekend and relax with one of these delicious cocktails.

Fresh Finish

Ingredients:

2 oz Cachaça 51
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz carrot juice
Ginger beer

Directions:

Step 1: Pour Cachaça 51, juice and syrup into shaker. Add ice, shake and strain into a collins glass with fresh ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a candied ginger.

Brooklynite

Ingredients:

2 oz Cachaça 51
4 dashes angostura bitters
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz honey syrup

Directions:

Step 1: Pour all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into a coupe (martini) glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Only The Wise

Ingredients:

2 oz Cachaça 51
1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz sage simple syrup
3/4 oz pineapple juice
Seltzer

Directions:

Step 1: Pour Cachaça 51, juices and sage syrup into a shaker. Shake and pour into a collins glass filled with fresh ice. Top with seltzer. Use a pineapple leaf as garnish.

Blueberry Collins

Ingredients:

2 oz Cachaça 51
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 simple syrup infused with hibiscus
3 to 4 blueberries

Directions:

Step 1: Add ingredients in a shaker tin and shake with ice well. Pour over ice in a Collins glass and top with cold seltzer water. Drop a few blueberries in the glass for garnish
