This is a one bowl meal that easily can come together in 20 minutes or less. If you’re a Chile Head you’ll appreciate the chile sauce together with the fresh basil and garlic. It’ll bring a little perspiration and release a few of the desirable endorphins in the process.

More than ever, the experts say breakfast is still the most important meal of the day. Since it’s usually the most rushed meal, it’s often a far cry from the healthiest. A bowl of familiar cereal with marshmallows anyone? We know that bowl is high in sugar, and low in protein and nutrients. Yet, we continue to make it our meal of choice on a regular basis, and consider it our fuel for far too many hours.

My husband loves cinnamon rolls. They are his absolute favourite treat. I'd even go as far as to say that he loves them even more than my Best Ever Fudge Brownies. Choosing a snack in a bakery is always super easy for him, if they have cinnamon rolls then that's what he's getting. Lately though he hasn't been very happy with the store bought/bakery versions he's been getting. Why is that? Well I'm shamelessly admitting that he prefers my cinnamon rolls more.

This Pumpkin Cheesecake was among our favorites in Vegan Pie In The Sky! All those autumnal spices with lots of pumpkin flavor and an irresistible pecan crunch topping. It’s so delicious, it makes you feel a little funny. And don’t worry about serving this to even the biggest tofuphobe, they will not complain one bit.

et’s delve into the savory side of things for a minute shall we. Oh, you didn’t think I ate desserts exclusively did you? Well I don’t. That would be crazy! If you couldn’t tell from this post, my favorite things to eat are eggs. They are easy, inexpensive and best of all, since I’m a vegetarian, they are packed with protein.

Suzanne Goin, the executive chef at Luques in Los Angeles, is one of my favorite chefs. Her sophisticated dishes have multiple layers of flavors and textures. This recipe is from the Luques cookbook that I use quite often.

I have been ordering out way to much lately. At a minimum of $12 a pop, twice a day seven days a week… Well, it adds up (even if I will not, eschewing the obvious mental-financial pains). Tonight, I was finger-peddling my brand new iPhone 4s (it is white!!!!) and flicking through the delivery.com app looking for tonights food when I decided enough was enough.

What do you do with an abundance of carrots? That was the question I asked myself recently. Thanks to our farm box deliveries we’ve been inundated with carrots. Carrot cake is always an option of course, and in fact I did make one using an unusual recipe, but the results were less than steller so in the rubbish bin went the cake. The search for a great carrot recipe continued until I stumbled onto the simple idea of carrot fritters.

Something mystical has happened this weekend, my City Crab Apples have transformed into “poisonous” magic wishing apples! Ok, well perhaps not so mystical and definitely not so poisonous…but I did make Candy Apples! As I debated a few weeks ago with what to make with my tiny little crab apples, the thought of Halloween obviously popped into my head…

It’s National Deviled Eggs Day! Why not celebrate by making these Jalapeño Deviled Eggs! Wouldn’t you think this day would fall at some point during the summer months when picnics are in full swing? Whatever! It’s nothing to get cracked up about.

Halloween is upon us, and I’m in the mood for cooking something pumpkin-related again. Actually, this is “take two” of last year’s recipe, the previous one being kind of a disaster.

In our latest "red box" we got beautiful black radishes. After using them to cover polenta for our Food Day gathering (more on that to come from Casey!), I decided to make a delicious radish pizza for dinner the other night.

In celebration, I have a quick, simple, Halloween-inspired chocolate goody for you to try that would be perfect for any Halloween party. I came up with this idea when I was wondering the aisles of the grocery store looking for a treat to bring to a friend’s apartment. It may be too early for peppermint bark, but it’s the perfect time for Halloween bark!

I was recently invited to participate in McCormick's Halloween baking blogger contest through KitchenPlay, and since I love baking how could I resist?

It’s almost fall and that means it’s time to start baking warm, spicy autumn desserts. My absolute favorite spice cake recipe is for Pumpkin Spice Bars. To make the bars, you start out by baking a homemade spice cake in a sheet pan and savoring the smell of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves filling up your kitchen.

Remember last week when I discovered two ways for not making marshmallows? Thank goodness I finally figured it out and was able to make some amazing marshmallow treats! Being the frugal cook I am I can't bear to let anything go to waste so I saved the marshmallow cream figuring no recipe is a failure if you can find a way to turn it into something glorious and new. Let me tell you, these candies are pretty glorious.

I’m guest posting over at Vestavamps today, so you’ll have to hop on over there for the spooky details + recipe. I can’t remember exactly, but I think we originally met through Instagram, a combination of social media plus pretty pictures.

As I was baking up some pumpkin muffins for the kids today I was realizing how my baking has changed over this past year. I used to be into mixing various types of gluten free flours to see what the results would be.

I loved this idea, especially since lately I watched one of the Sex and the City episode where Carrie and Miranda were devouring some cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery.
