Queso Asadero

About

Queso Asadero is a white or pale-yellow colored mild tasting Mexican cheese. It is a very versatile cheese, used in many roasted or baked Mexican dishes. The texture is elastic and the flavor can be sweet and a little buttery, or it can be tangy and strong similar to cheddar cheese.

It is also called Oaxaca or Queso Oaxaca because it originated in the Oaxaca region. It is used as a filling for chiles rellenos or chile con queso.

Also known as Chihuahua cheese and Oaxaca cheese. A mexican white cow's milk cheese fashioned in rounds and braids.
