Saturn Grapes

About

The Saturn is a seedless table grape, first cultivated in 1987 at the University of Arkansas. These grapes are dark red, firm, meaty egg-shaped berries, similar to vinifera in flavor and character. The clusters can be quite large, and their size varies in different climates. In cool seasons, there can be a large number of small "shot" berries in the cluster and the actual clusters can be smaller as well. Saturn grapes are best in hot growing seasons. On fertile soils this variety can have canes that are among the thickest of any American grape. They ripen about two weeks before Concords.
