Kobe Beef
About
Japanese beef renowned for it's tenderness and fat marbled meat. Technically Kobe beef must be of the Wagyu breed, come from Kobe, Japan and meet a strict set of requirements in the way it's raised and butchered.
"Kobe-Style" beef is increasingly produced in different parts of the world from imported Wagyu stock and raised in a similar fashion.
Wether the originally from Kobe or elsewhere it tends to be very expensive, often selling for more than $100 per pound.
