Conserving and Storing

If you have leftovers to store, you didn't make them right. Or you made too many. Store in an airtight container for up to a week (best within 3 days).

Social/Political

Great party treat when made the right size. Mini pies work best.

History: According to food historians, Amish women would bake these (known as hucklebucks at the time) and put them in farmers' lunchboxes. When farmers would find these treats in their lunch, they would shout "Whoopie!".

Other sources indicate that the name comes from the jazz song "Making' whoopee" by Gus Kahn in 1928.
