Sunflower seeds with a solid black hull are called black oil sunflower seeds and are used to extract sunflower oil.
Sunflower seeds with white stripes have lower oil content and is used for food. They are considered as a healthy snack. They are an excellent source of dietary fiber, protein, vitamin B & E, calcium, and helps lower cholesterol.
