Physical Description

Spanish red potatoes are very large in size. They have a thin red outer skin covering and the flesh is white. When cooked, the flesh becomes orange. They have long and skinny roots.

Preparation and Use

Spanish Red sweet potatoes can be easily baked in the oven and eaten as any other type of baked potato. They can be mashed to make sweet mashed potatoes or into a casserole with marsh mallows and granola. They can cut into strips and deep fried to make sweet potato fries!

Cleaning: Scrub the outer skin of the potato under cold water to get rid of any debris and dirt.

Conserving and Storing

Store the sweet potato in your refrigerator and if you've cut into it, make sure to plastic wrap it airtight.
