But what about the one that's grown flat? The reason why it's grown flat is because it's on a kind of a fence. It's on wires. This is a Lady in the Snow apple, a very heavy cropper. It is grown like a kind of fan really. All you do is prune off all the branches that grow out and away to keep it flat. When you have done that, cut the top ones off to about three buds all the way across, and that keeps it under marvellous control.
