Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds lean hamburger
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup steak sauce
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 2 tablespoons steak seasoning
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 tablespoon coarse black pepper
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1 small sweet onion, chopped
- buns(optional)
- 3 tablespoons chopped garlic
- condiments(optional)
- 1 tablespoon Chipotle chili powder
- Colby-Jack cheese, sliced
- Chipotle salsa
- wet hickory chips
- dry hickory chips
Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the hamburger, steak sauce, steak seasoning, pepper, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Parmesan cheese, and chili powder. Mix well and form 5 patties.
Step 2
Prepare the grill. Oil and preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400°F). Add your wet hickory chips to the grill.
Step 3
Optional: You can add hickory chips directly to the grill, or use foil smoke packets. To make a packet, combine two handfuls of wet chips and one dry, fold foil into a packet, and poke holes in it with a fork.
Step 4
Place burgers on the hot grill for 4-5 minutes without turning. Once seared, flip them and cook for another 2-3 minutes with the grill closed before adding chipotle salsa and cheese.
Step 5
Spoon a good covering of the chipotle salsa onto the burgers and add the cheese slices. Continue cooking until the cheese is melted, then plate.
Step 6
Build your burger with buns, sliced avocado, tomato, and desired condiments.
