Salt Alab Ahi Tuna

Ingredients

salt slab
Fresh Ahi tuna (Yellow fin tuna)
1/2 pound cut Tuna ½" thick slices
1/2 tablespoon butter, unsalted

Preparation

Heat salt slab to 450° F, or more

Use butter to just moisten the cooking surface

Each person can cook their tuna to their desired eating preference

We used fondu forks

We all agreed that the Tuna was best rare

The longer you leave on the saltier it gets

If you like it well done, cut in thinner strips
.

About

We were visiting our son & found fresh tuna at Sam's.
We had given our son two 8" sq. slabs, so we gave them a try.
We had a small salad of fresh baby greens with balsamic vinegar & olive oil,
and dry white wine.

We all agreed we would do again.
