  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • 1 tablespoon currants
  • 1/8 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, sift together the AP flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the oats and set aside.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together peanut butters (referring to the Planter's NUTrition Energy Mixes as they are the only nut-based ingredients listed, though not explicitly peanut butter) and unsalted butter until fluffy. Add the white sugar and dark brown sugar and beat until smooth. Add the egg and mix well. Add the whole milk, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Add the dry ingredients to the mixture and mix thoroughly. Stir in the dark chocolate chunks.

10-12 minutes

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving a couple of inches between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes. When the cookies are done, transfer them onto a wire rack and cool completely before serving. Enjoy!
