About

The origin of this recipe is a bit of a mystery. My mom and I set out to try as many chocolate chip cookie recipes as we could find to make the perfect cookie. We tried a few in our search that simply weren't satisfactory...until we found this recipe in a drawer. It's written in my dad's handwriting, but he doesn't remember writing it, and when we tried these cookies we knew we would never go back. The original recipe called for corn syrup instead of honey, but other than that this is the exact recipe as my dad allegedly wrote it. These cookies have almost a toffee taste to them (from the honey, butter, and brown sugar) and are delightfully gooey. Because of the butter content they also keep very well. Warning: Not exactly a low calorie food, but you can comfort yourself with the idea of the presence of whole wheat flour...
