- 2 teaspoons Dried <a href="/food/ZLS6DSP3/thyme-blossoms-">thyme</a> leaves
- 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F)
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3.5 cups all-purpose flour, plus more if needed
Instructions
Step 1
In a small bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy; about 10 minutes.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and herbs.
Step 3
In a saucepan, heat milk and butter to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients and beat until moistened. Beat in egg until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Do not knead. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Step 4
Punch dough down. Turn onto a floured surface; divide into 24 pieces. Shape each into a ball. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
Step 5
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Step 6
Bake at 400° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
