Tool: salt plate


A salt plate is a thick, hand-cut slab of mineral-rich pink Himalayan salt. You can heat them in the oven to sear or cook such items as fish, or thinly sliced beef, they add a mild taste to the food.

Salt plates can also be heated on top of a range, or used on a barbecue grill. They can also be chilled and used as a serving plate.
