Sorghum is an annual grass that is extremely tolerant to drought. It is one of the top cereal crops along with wheat, oats, corn, and barley.

Sorghum is gluten free and is often cooked as a porridge. The grain is neutral in flavor and sometimes a little sweet. It is high in dietary fiber, protein, and iron.
