Wedding cakes are the real centerpieces at any wedding reception. It is the first thing people see when they enter the hall, and it is sometimes difficult for the bride and groom to choose the appropriate one.
There are two types of wedding cakes to go for: the traditional cake and the modern cake. The traditional cake is usually a tree tier round cake with a highly decorative wedding cake topper. Modern cakes go from designer cakes to wedding cupcakes which at the moment are extremely popular (and a lot cheaper). Nowadays, wedding cake designs sometimes really go over the top, and other times they just move slightly away from the traditional one (usually with just a few variations).
Sometimes, choosing the right cake is not as important as choosing the right baker. Make sure you hire someone who is an expert in this field. Your wedding day is just too important to jeopardize it with the "wrong" cake made by someone who is not a professional. It will cost you more in the end, let alone the stress that it will give you. For the most part, a good wedding plan also consists on making sure that the people behind each and every detail (no matter how small) know exactly what they are doing.
