Gary Chisholm
I am a freelance writer with four years experience in the travel industry. A native of New Orleans, I grew up in a famous New Orleans restaurant family, and learned about good food early. I apprenticed to well-known New Orleans chef, Alex Patout, before going off into the private sector for a few years.
My favorite foods include seafood gumbo, boudin, alligator sauce piquante, and crawfish etouffee. I enjoy Asiatic regional cuisine such as Thai, sushi, shabu shabu, and Indian food, and I am a big fan of southern Italian-style cooking. That being said, I am always on the lookout for the best cheeseburger (Port of Call's in New Orleans and The Burger Joint in Le Meridien in New York), and the best slice of pizza (anywhere in Brooklyn).
I am interested in leveraging my considerable online writing experience, and knowledge of food to help others as a food writer.
