I'm a commercial Fisherman and charter operator in SE Alaska. I market some of my catch in the Puget Sound Area of Washington State under the name Sylver Fishing Company. I provide high quality Spot Prawns and Halibut to some of Seattle's top restaurants and also sell to individual buyers.

My background is in Biology and I'm hyper aware of the need to conduct my fishing activities in a sustainable way. Our Spot Prawns are trap caught with no habitat destruction and little to no by catch. I "farm my piece of the ocean" and want sustained harvestability in the future. Our Halibut "IFQ" (individual fishing quota) is harvested using hook and line which allows for live release of undersize fish. The long line fishing method produces little by catch that can't be released live or retained.

I also operate Alaska Vistas-a sight seeing charter company out of Wrangell, Alaska. I enjoy the sustainability of this kind of tourism. Nothing is exploited, killed or chased when viewing the abundant wildlife of the famed "inside passage" of SE Alaska when touring with my company. SE Alaska is a land of towering mountains, glacier and salmon. I enjoy hosting guests on Bear Viewing Tours to Anan Wildlife Observatory during July and August. Black and Brown bear have to eat good wild caught salmon too!

I market seafood in the Puget Sound Area starting in November each fall.
