I was born a picky eater but some time in college I figured out what I had been missing. I come from a long line of great cooks. Great grandmothers on either side were cooks at hotels in the Catskills. My maternal grandmother made the best darn fried chicken in the world and she was originally from Hungary! My mom was a fantastic cook who went on to create a catering business called World on a Platter, which I took for the name of my blog. I learned about cooking from my mom, about 900 cookbooks, and a degree in culinary arts.
