I am an independent blogger who started The Roaming Ramekins, a food and travel website. It was produced to explore the questions that naturally arise when I think about food, travel, and the realm in between. From kitchen techniques and tools to cultural cuisine and flavors, I try to explore recipes to solve common issues in the kitchen. When not investigating recipes in my kitchen, I like to discover restaurants and explore destinations. In a previous life I wrote about art, travel and culture at art:SAGE. Since then I have been working in the museum realm and find myself thinking about creating recipes, the next meal, and upcoming adventures during my off time. I have no professional culinary training, but I have a keen interest in exploring where food comes from, what flavors meld together, and the cuisine that is developed along the way. Recently I have become more and more interested in what we are consuming and our contemporary food culture. The how, where, and why of the fresh foods available to most people. I come from a long line of great Sicilian cooks. I have spent a good amount of time since my youth in the kitchen, and have dabbled with catering. Food should be beautiful and tasty, but good food takes work. Much like many other things, it takes research, practice and patience. Great meals are inspired from many sources- cultures, recipes, and necessity.
