Teapots come in various shapes and sizes. Some hold only 8 ounces while others 8.5 ounces, 11 ounces, 14 ounces, 24 ounces, etc. One liter is approximately 4.23 cups or 34 ounces. Of the standard teapot sizes I've listed the 11 ounce teapot would contain about 1/3 of a liter.
