  • 1.5 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 2.0 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1.0 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.0 cups water
  • 1.0 cups granulated sugar
  • 1.0 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.0 squares chocolate, melted
  • 3.0 cups sour milk with 1/2 teaspoon baking soda stirred in
  • 2.0 large eggs, well beaten
  • 0.5 cups butter
  • 1.0 cups granulated sugar

30 to 35 minutes

Cream butter and sugar; add well beaten eggs. Add melted chocolate, then alternately stir in flour, then sour milk, mixing well. Add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured cake pan and bake at 325 degrees.

until it thickens

Combine water, sugar, vanilla and chocolate and cook over hot water; stir in 2 teaspoons of cornstarch mixed with a little water. Cook until it thickens. Spread between layers of cake. When cake is cool, frost with your favorite icing.
