
Author Jeffery Dever's latest tome, "007 Carte Blanche," places James Bond in the present; accordingly, his drink of choice has been similarly updated. The new James Bond cocktail, called The Carte Blanche, contains two shots of Crown Royal whisky, a half-measure of triple sec and two dashes of Angostura bitters garnished with an orange twist.
Although James Bond's most famous cocktail of choice is a shaken martini, the drink featured in "007 Carte Blanche" isn't without reason. Bond has also been depicted drinking raki, Champagne, Russian vodka, classic cocktails, brandy and bourbon. Jeffery Deaver discusses the book below:

We tried making this new cocktail recipe after reading the book, and we did not care for it. It will definitely not replace a perfectly made martini.

I haven't tried it, but personally, if I'm drinking good bourbon or whiskey, it'll be either neat or in a perfect Manhattan.
