In-N-Out has some serious beef with Burger Express in Boise, Idaho. In-N-Out Burger has formally accused Burger Express of pilfering its business model -- including its logo, menu and food presentation -- and gave Burger Express a little under a month to make changes. "There can be no debate that your restaurant is modeled after In-N-Out's restaurants," read the letter.
Larry Squillace, the owner of Burger Express, wasn't happy with the In-N-Out letter. "This goliath company just wants to pop our bubble and take all our dreams and smash 'em... At least when Walmart comes to town, they crush the little guys, but they don't sue them out of business."
Burger Express has been open for about a month; in that time, a Scene Magazine columnist and a local food blogger commented on the similarities between the new burger joint and In-N-Out.
