Super Easy Hawaiian-Style Loco Moco Recipe

July 14, 2014

We’re loco over loco moco, the not-shy-on-calories Hawaiian meal of rice, a hamburger patty, and brown gravy topped with a fried egg. It’s the perfect hangover food or simply a crazy big meal when your belly needs some fillin’ up. We've made our own gravy for this dish, but a quick and easy packaged gravy will certainly do the trick (we like Knorr). Day or night this stick-to-you-ribs easy loco moco recipe will do you right!

Easy Hawaiian-Style Loco Moco
Makes 2 servings

1/2 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20 fat content)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 package Knorr Classic Brown gravy mix
4 eggs
Steamed white short grain rice

Season ground beef with salt and pepper and form into 2 large patties or 4 smaller ones. Grill or fry patties over medium-high heat until cooked to your likeness.

Make gravy according to package instructions.

Cook 4 eggs sunny side up.

Put rice into 2 large bowls. Ladle gravy over the rice, top with a hamburger patty, then finally top with each bowl with 2 eggs. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper and serve.
