I decided to turn the regular tapioca pudding into a chocolate tapioca pudding with cocoa powder, which I already had on hand. Then I decided to add a bit of cinnamon and a dash of cayenne to give it a mild, Mexican-chocolate accent.

I had high hopes for these bunnies. I ended up making the recipe twice, the first batch didn't quite look like bunnies, more like lumps. I was completely bummed, but, persevered.

I ate my roasted grapes in a salad with crumbled goat cheese and spinach, which was perhaps the most simple and delicious lunch I've had in months. I knew the grapes would go perfectly with goat cheese, but the oil and moisture from the grapes canceled out the need for any additional dressing, too!

Last weekend I decided on a whim that it was, without a doubt, the official start of BBQ season. It was a beautiful day and we flung open the doors on to the balcony, letting sun stream into the flat, fired up the grill and had a bunch of mates over to devour what I rather modestly titled a ‘Mexican Feast’.

Well smack my hinny and call me Shirley, because I am now a caper lover! Never thought I’d see the day. These little oddities turned my world upside down and I couldn’t be more pleased about it.

It's probably a cold day where most of you are today... at least it is here. This is the perfect dish to make on a day like this. It's a little time consuming, but it's not hard and the finished product is full of flavor, spicy (duh, I made it), and makes perfect leftovers for lunch the next day or even another dinner the next night.

This recipe is easy, but it does take some time. It’s the perfect thing to make on a lazy Sunday. You just have to remember on your busy Saturday to put the beans in to soak.

Today's post is about a warm quinoa salad I made with lemon juice and toasted almonds. The recipe is similar to that of Indian lemon rice. Instead of the rice, I am using quinoa here.

The siren call of the nuts and chocolate led directly to a revival of my favourite childhood treat: DQ’s Peanut Buster Parfait, also known as vanilla ice cream nestled between layers of warm chocolate fudge sauce and salty roasted peanuts. Foodgasm, right there.

I decided to add some maple sugar and syrup to a brining solution and create a fantastic pork loin. Just slightly sweet, with a caramelized crust, this pork was succulent and perfectly cooked.

These doughnuts are simply fabulous. They are super light, airy and fluffy with a rich chocolaty flavor.

Get a fresh taste of the Mediterranean Sea! Red snapper is one of my favorite kinds of fish; it holds up well to heat, is great with sauces and has a bold wonderful color!

I decided I was going to try baking something different with the ingredients I had on hand, that did not include butter

These Chicken Flautas make the perfect lunch AND make really good left overs. They are almost as good as cold pizza. I envision these are the perfect after school or after work snack. I hope you will think so too.

I've always wanted to make my own butter so when my friends Sarka and Giulia made their own in January I decided to finally give it a go.

As a baker, you can lure friends with treats. You can bake and have someone fall in love with the smell drifting from the oven.

A perfect spring time soup, served chilled and garnished with mint.

Crispy and sweet, with no added sugar and just a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg, they make a perfect snack to satisfy midday (and late night) cravings.

I was feeling gypped a couple of weeks ago because there just seemed to be salted caramel brownies everywhere I looked and I couldn't eat any of them! Determined to make a low carb version, I went to work using flax meal as a base.
