Remember all that pomegranate juice I made awhile back? I have the juice frozen and took out a liter and made this amazing sorbetto. It is so rich and flavourful that only a little scoop satisfies the craving. Pomegranate has a sweet tart puckery quality about it that makes it ideal as a palate cleanser.

I thought it was a fun gourmet dish to try for a weekend brunch, and I liked the idea of using a portabella mushroom cap to replace the standard english muffin typically found in this dish. The red bell pepper also adds a hint of sweetness not normally found in the dish, which was great.

Talk about a delicious treat! I was committed to a French inspired New Years Eve this year, and the first thing that came to mind was melted brie cheese. I know, a little cliche, but it's true. The sweetness of the cranberries with the creamy melted brie is simply fantastic in this recipe.

I have recently cut way back on grains and really focused on eating highly nutritious food. I feel so much better for it – much less sluggish and bloated. I have been eating much more protein and really trying to find ways to incorporate more fresh vegetables into my diet.

In what feels like a former lifetime, I frequented a ubiquitous coffee shop for after school study sessions and Saturday outings. My favorite snack was a cookie-bar hybrid, filled with chunks of chocolate and toffee. While those bars disappeared from the pastry case long ago (and my coffee tastes have evolved!), my love for chocolate and toffee has not ceased.
