Hybrid Kermit Thai Eggplant
About
A hybrid version of the Thai round eggplant, a well-established variety and popular in markets for its superior quality. The Hybrid Kermits are small round eggplants. They are typically about the size of a golf ball. Usually between one and a half to two inches across in diameter with green/ white variegated skin. Young fruits are very tasty and can be eaten fresh or cooked. As with many of the other Asian Eggplants, they do not have the bitter flavor often associated with American eggplants. The skin of Thai eggplants is also very firm and seeds should be removed before eating.. This traditional Thai type of eggplant is used for its distinctive flavor extensively in many Asian dishes such as curry dishes, soups, stews, egg dishes or pickled and served as a snack or side dish. They are also the perfect size to put on a shish kebab skewer, brushed with olive oil and grilled
