It’s just not summer without a juicy watermelon slurp fest. Shaped like a smile, a slice of watermelon has the ability to catapult me back to my childhood. Memories of sticky, sweet juice trickling down my chin, picnics and hot weather fun times rush me at warp speed.
The rest of the good news? In addition to inducing the warm fuzzies, watermelon is good for you. It’s loaded with antioxidants that are touted to help reduce diseases like cancer, is an excellent source of vitamins A, B6 and C, and has virtually no fat or cholesterol. Best of all, 2 cups of watermelon ring up at only 90 calories.
