Saganaki (Greek Melted Cheese Appetizer)
Ingredients
1 pound Hard Greek
cheese
(
kasseri,
haloumi,
hefalotiri, or
1/4 pound
Butter
1
Juice of fresh
lemon
Preparation

Slice
the cheese into ¾-1” thick cubes.

Fry
in hot butter for 3 minutes on each side.

Sprinkle with lemon
juice
and
serve
hot.

Cheese may be broiled instead of
fried,
cut
into ½” thick s
lices a
nd arrange in single layers in individual oven-proof d
ishes.

Broil 3 minutes without
turning.

Serve
hot with crusty
bread.
