Lamb and Bacon Burgers

Ingredients

1 pound Ground lamb
2 ounces Fresh breadcrumbs
1 small Onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons dried oregano
3 strips of bacon, chopped finely
1 Egg, beaten
6 Whole grain rolls, split and toasted
Sliced tomatoes

Preparation

In a large bowl, mix together the lamb, breadcrumbs, onion, oregano, bacon and salt and pepper. Bind together with the egg.

Divide the mixture into 6, roll into balls and flatten with the palm of your hand. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Place the burgers on a preheated grill and cook for 5-6 minutes each side, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.

Serve each burger in a warm toasted roll filled with a lettuce and tomato garnish.
