Chocolate Wafer-Cookie Dessert

Ingredients

1 pt. whipping cream, sweetened to taste

Preparation

Whip the cream until stiff. Add sugar to taste. Place a tablespoon of the sweetened cream on each of 12 wafer cookies, on a flat cookie sheet. Top with another wafer and spoonful of cream. Continue alternating the wafers and cream until you have three layers, ending with a spoonful of cream.

Top each stack with a maraschino cherry and refrigerate overnight. The whipped cream will soften up the cookies, so they will be individual tortes. Our children call them "Zebra Haystacks".
