Hot Milk Sponge Cake
Add butter to milk. Beat eggs and vanilla until thick and lemon-colored, about 3 minutes on high speed. Gradually add sugar, beating constantly at medium speed 4 to 5 minutes. Add flour, baking powder and salt; stir until just blended. Stir in milk mixture. Pour into greased and floured 9-inch square or round pan at least 2-inches deep. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan.
