Russian Babochki Anticafe Offers Free Goods but Charges Customers by the Minute

March 29, 2012

Russia's Babochki Anticafe takes a different approach when it comes to serving its customers: free snacks and drinks, but a fee for every minute that the customer stays.

To entice people to stay, the customers are offered an assortment of board games, video games on platforms such as Xbox, and a cinema. The Babochki Anticafe was designed to allow patrons to relax and enjoy their time spent, rather than feel rushed and compelled to buy a cup of coffee or a scone. For more unique ways cafes are bringing in customers, check out Brooklyn's babyccinos, which are targeted towards the tots of coffee-sipping moms.
