Valentine's Day Treats: French Chocolate Truffles

Make your Valentine swoon with these homemade confections. There is nothing more decadent than French Chocolate Truffles. We imagine they could also be rolled in cocoa and a pinch of cayenne to spice things up a bit. 

French Chocolate Truffles

6 ounces Sweet baking chocolate
1 tablespoon Cognac or
2 tablespoons sherry
1/2 cup Butter
2 tablespoons Sifted cocoa
1 cup Sifted sugar
1 tablespoon Heavy cream

1 teaspoon Vanilla

In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and to this, add the melted butter , then add the sugar, vanilla, and wine. Stir till it is blended fine. Now cool till firm (not hard nor brittle) you might need cream here just a little-spread the cocoa on a plate or slab, P): Roll each ball in the cocoa
