About
THIS IS FOR THE DOYENNE DU COMICE PEAR. I RESEARCHED AND WROTE UP THE PARAGRAPH SO IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO NOT SUBMIT IT.
The Doyenne Du Comice Pear is of French origin and is highly sought after for its fine flavor ideal for dessert, making it one of the most popular. Pears flower several weeks earlier than apples, require warmer conditions and should be picked in October while firm and stored until November for eating. The Concorde variety make excellent pollination partners. All pears are grafted on rootstocks (usually Quince A to consumers), can be trained into a number of shapes and must be pruned according to a handbook. The Doyenne Du Comice Pear is said to have the very best flavor and finest of textures since 1849. Pale green flesh followed by yellow later appearing with a red blush is its ripening progression. A connoisseur's variety. Raised in Angers, France in 1849 and introduced to Britain in 1858. The Pyrus communis as it is scientifically called is a self-sterile, class E pollinator. "Maidens" are one year trees 1m-2m tall, bare rooted when dormant.
