Prince William and Princess Kate’s royal wedding cake was beautiful.
It took the whole “cake team” led by cake maker, Fiona Cairns, five days to make the eight-tiered cake. It was decorated with up to 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers.
See an interview with Cairns below!
The ivory-colored cake looks very simple, yet extremely elegant, especially with the elements from Joseph Lambeth technique of cake decoration that the new princess wanted. It also includes the ‘language of flowers’ – 17 different blooms and foliage for the couple’s meaning or symbolism.
The sugar lily of the valley is equally stunning on Prince William's very lovely chocolate groom's cake. It is a royal family recipe baked by Buckingham Palace’s royal pastry chef, Kathryn Boyden, with the help of sous chef Jane Fisher.
