I am an Alaskan girl that uprooted and moved to the Pacific Northwest 5 years ago. I come from a family of exceptional cooks. We grew up on salmon, halibut, rockfish and moose meat mostly so many of my most favorite memories around food include these things.

Like standing with my grandpa in the kitchen and him telling me that the secret to moose is to cook it with a few splashes of pepperoncini juice. Or having him serve up the best fruit smoothies with fresh apples and blueberries we picked. Or having the executive chef for the Governor of Alaska show my mom how to season and sear the simplest, most perfect piece of salmon. Or going to our fishing cabin and making a fresh seafood fettuccine from scratch using bits from all the fish and shrimp we hauled in that day.

One of the most wonderful thing about living a 35minute ferry ride away from Seattle, is that we have access to some of the most amazing ingredients, chefs and restaurants. This has really opened my eyes to new possibilities with food, especially using ingredients I love.
