The Café Sucré Farine

The intricacies of cooking and baking have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, so the birth of this blog is something I've been dreaming about for some time now. My husband says that I read cookbooks like "normal" people read novels and often refers to me as the crazy "chemist" in the kitchen. If you and I were to go out to a good restaurant, you would most likely find me analyzing and "de-constructing" the food (in my mind of course) as I enjoy it. Often the following day you'd smell suspiciously similar aromas wafting from my kitchen! When a new cooking magazine arrives in the mail I am thrilled and can hardly wait to steal away a few moments to peruse. Although I really enjoy baking (my friends and co-workers will attest to this as they are so often my "guinea pigs"), I also love preparing and coming up with recipes using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. For me, it's a fun challenge to keep our meals healthy, but at the same time delicious. That way, when the baking impulse overtakes me, I don't have to feel quite so terribly guilty. My blog will offer recipes that mirror this philosophy - I hope you enjoy it!
