Budget Bytes
So, inspired by Green Light Bites I made my own zucchini pizzas. I added some bread crumbs to beef up the filling, used parmesan instead of feta because that's what I had on hand, and I threw a couple black olives on top.

Lardon My French
Pinakbet is a dish that originates from my mom's hometown in Ilocos Norte. It's a melange of vegetables; tomatoes, onions, bitter melon, okra, green beans, all cooked with garlic, ginger, and bagoong (shrimp paste) until shriveled. It's one of my mom's staple recipes... a dish that she either cooks, or brings home from the Filipino store.

Toast Soldier
I came up with the idea of baking sesame and wasabi brownies after eating Vosges Black Pearl flavor chocolate, which has ginger, wasabi, and black sesame inside. Although I used 3 tbsp of wasabi powder, these brownies did not turn out spicy at all! Otherwise, they were nutty, chocolatey, and fudgy.

Honey, What's Cooking?
So this past week I had some mushrooms at home and decided to make Mushroom Paninis for my husband and I. I took this recipe up several notches by caramelizing the onions with butter in a Cast Iron Skillet - oh yeah! Sound good, right? It was delectable!

Mommie Cooks!
When I say the words “Bananas Foster French Toast”, what thought comes to your mind? For me it’s one all encompassing word. Scrumptious.

Bunkycooks
There is nothing much simpler than roasting veggies. The caramelization brings out the sweetness in the carrots and the subtle hint of Meyer Lemons adds a really delightful flavor. I have made them several times and just had to share this recipe!

A satisfying dessert should be no different than the best of the finger foods. So feel free to eat - simply to enjoy.

Cherry on a Cake
They were bananas after all. No? The only difference being that you cook them rather than eat them raw. But they are bananas just as cooking apples are apples....yes? I rest my case.

You just have to trust me on this one. It's a cookie inside of a cookie. How can it not be amazing?

Couldn't Be Parve
Irish Potatoes, a creamy coconut candy coated in cinnamon to make them resemble potatoes. I had never heard of them before, but I fell in love with them immediately.

Oh She Glows
Butternut squash pureed into macaroni and cheese just sounds like a match made in heaven, doesn’t it? It is also a fun way to sneak in another veggie.

Adventures in Cooking
I had never heard of them before and for some reason the thought of deep-frying avocados had never crossed my mind. Nevertheless, I was determined to recreate them...

Baba Ganuj
They were big boys. They were round... good handfuls. I've never met them before, so I was a bit shy introducing myself.

Treats...Making Everyday a Little Bit Sweeter
When it comes to unusual food names the British definitely take the top prize. Care for some bubble and squeak or spotted dick? How about toad-in-the hole?

BS' in the Kitchen
Continuing on with the asparagus theme, I cooked up a somewhat unique breakfast dish. Hashbrown topped with a fried egg and asparagus with an asparagus puree to use as a sauce.
