Buttery Blondies

Blondies are similar to brownies in shape and texture.  They have a distinctive molasses flavor from the brown sugar.  These rich chewy squares are hard to resist and are a perfect dessert for any summer occasion.  They are especially delicious when chocolate chips are added to the batter.  For an even more decadent dessert, add vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Blondies

Ingredients:

8 tablespoons butter

1 ½ cups light brown sugar

1 ½ cups flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla

¾ cup chopped pecans
