Konuts means the persons skilled in making the candies and they are the specialist in it.

Konut oil is a soft oil with very little side flavor of its own, and does not usually add or detract from the flavors of the candies. This is used when a candy needs a light oil, as in lubrication. There is no standard use for konut. It is used for brittle hard caramels and specialty fudges. The chocolate coating I use for rocky road candy is very brittle and I use konut oil to 'soften ' it. It doesn't change the sheen of the coating. The ratio I use is 1 oz konut to 1 lb of chocolate.
