To Roast a turkey in a paper bag:
Rub the turkey with melted butter and sprinkle with salt & pepper. You can loosen the skin with your fingers and insert sage leaves, roasted garlic cloves, thyme, or lemon peel to flavor the meat.

Preheat the oven to 325 F.

With a pastry brush- brush melted butter over a paper bag and liberally coat the entire surface of the paper bag until it is translucent.

Set the greased bag into the roasting pan and insert the turkey into the bag.

Fold the open end of the bag closed and staple it shut.

Roast the meat in the oven until a meat thermometer registers as done. Estimate 12 minutes per pound for a turkey

Let the roasted meat rest for 15 to 30 minutes before opening the bag and serving.
