A meat mallet is used to pound or tenderize cuts of meat. Making the meat even in thickness so it cooks more quickly and consistently. In example; to make cutlets, scallopine, parmigiana, cordon bleu, kiev, etc... You can also pound nuts or peppercorns in a pinch.
