Question: How Long Can You Safely Keep Homemade Chicken Stock In The Freezer?
January 12, 2010
I usually use my stock within 6 months so I do not worry. Will it stay good for a year? I have heard that it should be okay, but it may loose some flavor at that point.

Depends how well it is sealed. I've used vacuum packed frozen stock up to a year later and had no problems. I mostly use it in less time than than, but occasionally I stumble across an old batch at the bottom of the freezer.
I freeze it in 2oz blocks in a muffin tin, then pop them out and vacuum seal them in plastic.

Hi Gwen!
I recommend using frozen chicken stock within 6 months. I definitely feel the flavor and overall quality deteriorates after it is frozen for much longer.
