Pioneer Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup milk

Preparation

Combine first 3 dry ingredients. Cut in butter and add milk. Should be biscuit dough consistency. 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. water

Peel and slice peaches, mix with the 1/3 cup sugar. Place in baking dish - not tin. Place dough shaped to fit dish, on top of peaches. Make 3 finger size holes in dough to allow steam to escape. Boil the sugar (1/4 cup) and water 4 minutes. Add vanilla. When cobbler has baked 20 minutes at 350 degrees, pour the syrup over it and bake 10 minutes longer.
